The Canadian Songwriters Hall of Fame inducted a pair of Zoomer legends Saturday.

71-year old Neil Young and 72-year old Bruce Cockburn were honoured at a ceremony and concert at Massey Hall.

Cockburn thanked his long-time manager Bernie Finkelstein, and said “In a world increasingly defined by its fakery, we together have pulled off the greatedt trick ever – we spread truth.”

As Young was inducted he said he “was terribly proud to be Canadian.”

Others brought into the Hall were Quebecois inductees Beau Dimage known for writing popular French folk songs, and Stephanne Venne, who launched a successful songwriting career when he won the contest to write the theme for Expo ’67.
