Another 82 Nigerian schoolgirls who were kidnapped by a terrorist group have been released.
Boko Haram extremists seized 276 teenaged girls in 2014. Before Saturday’s release, 195 were still captive. 113 are still anaccounted for.
According to the Nigerian government, their release was in exchange for five Boko Haram terrorist commanders who were under arrest.
The kidnapping of the Chibok schoolgirls led to the “Bring Back Our Girls” campaign with support from around the world.
A statement from the “Bring Back Our Girls” group says that it’s waiting for a list of the names of the 82 girls who were released.
