Former Toronto police chief and MP Julian Fantino stepped back into Canadian politics Monday by endorsing Conservative leadership hopeful Kevin O’Leary. The tough talking police chief turned politician says he likes the way O’Leary speaks to Canadians and is proud and tall to stand with him. Fantino left politics in 2015 after losing his seat in the Vaughan-Woodbridge riding. The federal Conservatives will pick a new leader in May and some candidates are chasing headlines to try to drum up last-minute support. Tuesday is the deadline for the 14 candidates to sign up new party members who can vote for the next leader.
