The World Happiness Report was released Monday, to coincide with the United Nations’ International Day of Happiness.
It’s also the first day of spring! Norway has vaulted to the top of  list and Americans are becoming sadder. Canadians are 7th on the list of 150 countries. The report shows Americans have slipped to 14th on the list despite the fact that incomes have risen over the past decade, proving that money doesn’t always buy happiness. Countries in Africa and those hit by conflict have predictably low scores. The report also suggests that professional “white collar” jobs are associated with improved happiness over “blue collar” roles but that having a job at all is one of the biggest factors.
