If you were one of the people who decided to check out “Moonlight” now that it has won the Oscar for best picture, you weren’t alone. The movie got a significant Oscar bump in its first weekend after capturing the top movie award a week ago Sunday. It took in 2.5-million.To put that into perspective, the movie itself cost only 1.5-million to make so this weekend’s take was a million more than its production budget. The weekend take also represents 10 per cent of the movie’s overall domestic haul. Overall, the Barry Jenkins movie is one of the least widely seen best picture winners. Only “The Hurt Locker” earned less at the box office domestically. By contrast, “La La Land” has taken in 400-million domestically.
