A new BlackBerry phone will be on the maket in April, but it will be the last model actually designed in part by the iconic Canadian tech company.
The “KEYone” smarthone will be manufactured and distributed by T-C-L Communication Technology as part of a partnership arrangement with BlackBerry.
According to T-L-C, BlackBerry will not take part in any designing of future projects as it shifts its focus to security software and gets out of the hardware business.
The “KEYone” takes its name from its physical QWERTY keyboard, a feature whose return will certainly please long-time fans of the Waterloo, Ontario-based smartphone provider.
It’s a feature that’s been abandoned in favour of touch-screen keyboards by other brands.
