73 TTC employees have been fired after they were allegedly involved in a multi-million dollar benefits fraud scheme.

Back in 2015, Toronto police investigated the owner of a health product and services provider called Healthy Fit for allegedly issuing receipts for inflated, or non-existent claims.

The owner and two of the companies employees were charged with fraud in the summer of 2015.

The TTC alleges that employees would submit the fraudulent receipts and then share the proceeds of the benefits payout with the owner of Healthy Fit.

While no TTC employee has been charged police say the investigation is ongoing and some 600 employees are being looked into for potential involvement with the scam.
