Early in the morning on November 9th, Donald Trump was declared the winner of the US election, becoming the 45th President of the United States of America.
Starting his speech just before 3 am, he called the victory “historic,” and called for unity among all Americans now that the race was over. Trump said the race was not just a campaign – but a movement.
He called it a tough and nasty campaign but said the work is not yet over and that it’s time to heal as one united people.
Hillary Clinton did not give a concession speech, but did call Donald Trump to concede the election.
President-Elect Trump becomes the first president to never have served in government, or the military.
