While Toronto’s executive committee met in an emergency session earlier this week to decide how to pay for Smart Track, one GTA mayor says she’s going to have nothing to do with it.

Bonnie Crombie
A Toronto staff report costed the Smart Track plan and assumes Mississauga and the Greater Toronto Airport Authority will pay $470 million toward the extension of the Eglinton West LRT to Mississauga and Pearson Airport.

Bonnie Crombie says they will not pay for it nor have they been asked to pay for it. Yet.

She called the idea – a non-starter.

A city of Toronto spokesperson said the city manager report doesn’t actually ask for the $470 million but requests that Mississuaga and the GTAA indicate whether they are interested in the extension.
