A show bound for Broadway is giving two concert performances in Newfoundland.
The Saturday shows by the cast of “Come From Away” are to say thank you to Gander and nearby towns for their kindness during the tragic events of 9/11.
Local residents opened their homes to the approximately 66-hundred people who were stranded when all air traffic was halted and many international flights were diverted to Gander International Airport.
It’s the subject of the play, and about 5-thousand people are expected to see the two Saturday shows.
Money from the performances’ ticket sales are going to local charities to say thank you.
“Come From Away” opens in Toronto next month, then on to Broadway following successful dates in Seattle, San Diego and Washington, D-C.
