New electronic highway signs about to go up in Ontario are designed to encourage motorists to take an alternative method of transportation.

And they’ll be located where it’s expected they’ll have the most impact. A sign will go up on Monday on the Queen Elizabeth Way in Burlington in the area of the Appleby GO statuon.

The sign will show travel information and when the next GO trains will stop at that station, suggesting motorists pull off the busy highway, park their vehicle, and take the train.

The project will be expanded to the Bronte and Oakville GO stations by the end of the year.
