As the storm once known as Hurricane Matthew diminished along the US east coast and turned out to sea, Haiti began three days of national mourning

The Impoverished Caribbean nation was hit hard by what’s being called one of the largest Atlantic hurricanes ever, counting at least 900 deaths. Thousands of homes have been flattened, and the government says over 300 thousand people need aid.

Crops and food supplies have been destroyed, and there is a fear of cholera being spread.

Matthew pushed up the U-S southeast coast causing severe flooding in parts of Florida as well as in South and North Carolina.
