Prime Minister Justin Trudeau and Jack Ma, the founder of Chinese online shopping behemoth Alibaba, have announced a deal that will give Canadian companies a path to over 400 million Chinese consumers.
They announced the launch of a Canadian pavilion on the Tmall platform at the company’s offices in Hangzhou.
Trudeau says as wll as opening markets for Canadian firms, the digital hub will also promote tourism in Canada.
There are already more than thirty Canadian brands selling their productd on Alibaba, which is the world’s largest online shopping site.
