Some doctors are opposed to the new agreement between the province and the Ontario Medical Association, and want to see it rejected when a vote is held Sunday in Toronto.

The deal calls for an increase of 2.5 percent a year to 2020 in Ontario’s 11.5 billion dollar physicians services budget.

The group Concerned Ontario Doctors says they don’t want more money for doctors, but rather for adequate funding for patient care.

They’ve been conducting protest marches and rallies in an attempt to convince doctore to reject the deal. The group believes a better deal could have been reached through binding arbitration.

Doctors have gone two years without a contract.

Virginia Walley, the president of the OMA, says while the deal isn’t perfect, it will bring funding stability to physicians.
