The Canadian Union of Postal Workers wants the Trudeau government to pressue Canada Post into working harder on negotiations.

The union and the post office have been trying to reach a new labour agreement since late last year. The key issues are pensions and wage parity.

To make their point, and to get talks moving, hundreds of postal workers demonstrated Saturday in front of Prime Minister Justin Trudeau’s Montreal office.

Last month there was a threat from Canada Post to lock workers out, but they agreed not to when the government urged both parties to come to an agreement at the bargaining table.
