Acclaimed Canadian tenor Richard Margison is spending his summer vacation coaching some emerging opera stars at his singing school in cottage country. Richard and his wife Valeria Kuinka have chosen 20 students from over 200 applicants to attend their classes at Highlands Opera Studio in Haliburton. Margison invited coaches and agents from across the globe to help tomorrow’s opera stars network. He’s also offering master classes. The program provides six hours of professional training a day, six days a week including private coaching, auditions and seminars. The public is invited to attend performances in August that include productions of “Faust” and “The Brothers Grimm” in additions to other musicals and operas. The performances are scheduled for late August and for more information on the program and tickets, visit www.HighlandsOperaTheatre.com
