Another terrorist attack, this time in Dhaka, the capital of Bangladesh, where a 10-hour standoff ended with twenty hostages, two police officers and six militants dead.
The attack took place in an upscale restaurant
frequented by foreigners in the city’s diplomatic area. Officials say that among the dead hostages were nine Italians, seven Japanese and one Indian.
The Islamic State group has claimed responsibility for the attack.
Canada’s Gobal Affairs department is attempting to find out if there were any Canadian victims.
