“Stop the madness.” — “Bring this nightmare to an end.”
That’s the cry of a British Labour MP who says Parliament should vote on Thursday’s referendum that resulted in the United Kingdom heading to a split with the European Union.
David Lammy says the referendum is not legally binding.
It appears to be the feeling of many in the U.K. who have signed a petition asking for the “Leave” or “Remain” referendum to be voted on again.
By the middle of the weekend there were three million names on the petition,
A petition with over 100-thousand names must be debated in Parliament, but it’s under no obligation to overturn the results and call another vote.
