It’s cheaper now to become a card-carrying member of the federal Conservative party.
After a bruising defeat in the last election, the Tories say they want to rebuild by getting new members, and the way to do that is with lower membership fees.
Calgary Conservative M-P Deepak Obhrai recently stated in a press release that he believed the party would become an “elitist and white only” club because of the 25 dollar fee to become a member.
Now a one-year Conservative party membership goes from 25 dollars down to 15, and a two-year membership from 30 down to 25 dollars.
