Saturday April 23rd is the 400th anniversary of the death of William Shakespeare, perhaps the greatest of all playwrights.
Events are being held in many parts of the world today, including of course, the Bard’s native England, to celebrate his influence on language and culture.
His plays are being performed throughout the country, walking tours are being presented by the Museum of London, and the British Library has an exhibition of costumes and rare manuscripts.
Closer to home, our own Stratford Festival in Stratford, Ontario is going through rehearsals in preparation for opening week, May 30th to June 4th.
