More sabre rattling from North Korea.

The world’s most isolated nation says it completed a successful engine test on a new intercontinental ballistic rocket that could carry a nuclear warhead all the way to the United States.

In the past, Pyongyang has threatened pre-emptive nuclear strikes against the U-S and South Korea particularly when those two countries have conducted joint military exercises near the Korean peninsula.

South Korea disputes North Korea’s claim, saying it’s blustery neighbour doesn’t have a reliable long-range missile that could be armed with a nuclear warhead.

And there is speculation that Pyongyang’s military bombast was for domestic consumption in order to stear attention away from the country’s poor economic conditions.
