The Broadway hit “Wicked” has reached the 1-billion dollar mark in ticket sales faster than any other production.
Only two other musicals have reached the billion-dollar plateau, “The Lion King,” and “The Phantom of the Opera.”
“Wicked” opened in 2003, and reached 1-billion dollars in sales in 13 years and 5000 performances.

As the show’s average ticket price increased, revenue was also increased by adding over one hundred more seats in the Gershwin Theatre
