The provincial ombudsman is trying hard to keep his job.

Andre Marin is making a final push to persuade the Wynne Conservatives to reappoint the government watchdog for a third term.

He was given an extension of four months back in May so that politicians at Queen’s Park could find a replacement. The extension expires on Monday, and there’s a move to have deputy ombudsman Barbara Finley take over on an interim basis.

On Twitter Marin is pointing out that no other officers of the legislature have lost their jobs while applying to be reappointed for another term.
