Will the success of the Pan Am Games lead to a Toronto bid to host the 2024 Olympics?

That’s the hope of many who enjoyed the Pan Am experience, including Canadian Olympic Committee President Marcel Aubut.

Aubut says he will put the full power of his office behind a bid for the 2024 Olympics by Toronto.

Mayor John Tory is taking a cautious approach. He says his staff will weigh the pros and cons of such a major decision once the Para Panam games are over.

Toronto came close in previous bids for the Olympics, losing to Atlanta for the Games in 1996, and to Beijing for the 2008 Games.
