Little Prince George stole the show today when the Royals gathered to celebrate the Queen’s official birthday.
He was brought out on to the balcony at Buckingham Palace by his parents, the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge, as members of the Royal Family watched the traditional fly-past of aircraft. He smiled, waved and pointed at the airplanes.
April 21st is the Queen’s actual birthday, but it’s always celbrated on the second Saturday in June when festivities have a better chance of good weather. The Queen is 89.
The Queen’s Birthday Honours list was also revealed today, and among the many recipients of honours and titles was 69 year-old Irish singer-songwriter Van Morrison who can now add “Sir” to his name.
Receiving an honorary Knighthood was 55 year–old American actor Kevin Spacey for his work with the Old Vic Theatre.
