The UP Express is up and running.
The Union Pearson Express, operating between Toronto’s Union Station and Pearson International Airport, began taking passengers Saturday.
It’s something travellers have wanted for many years as highway traffic between downtown Toronto and the airport becomes more and more of a gamble, with accidents and weather contributing to long delays.
UP Express is part of a 16 billion-dollar package of projects designed to modernize transit infrastructure in the Greater Toronto and Hamilton area.
It’s PRESTO enabled, allowing customers to use their PRESTO card to take the trip for $19.00: otherwise the one-way fare is $27.00.
There are also children and seniors fares.
The trip takes 25 minutes, and departs every 15 minutes.
