Cineplex Entertainment is launching a new movie screening program for people with autism spectrum disorder and their families.
They’re called Sensory Friendly Screenings, and they will include lower volume, increased auditorium lighting, smaller crowds and 2D projection.
As well, the Canadian movie company says families will be allowed to bring in outside food and will be able to take a break from the movie by going into a nearby “calm zone”.
And admission for guests of all ages will be the current child ticket price.
Screenings will take place at 10:30 a.m. Saturdays at select theatres. In the GTA they include the Cineplex Cinemas Mississauga, Cineplex Cinemas Vaughan, and the Cineplex Odeon Morningside Cinemas in Scarborough.
