There’s a troubling sign in the motion picture business as it takes a look at year-end ticket sales.
Box office firm Rentrak says movies grossed about 10.4 billion dollars U.S. in 2014. That’s down 5.2 percent from 2013’s record take of 10.9 billion.
Insiders say those figures aren’t a major concern, but the statistics also show what appears to be a problem for the future. Fewer people went to the movies this year than any year in the last two decades.
