A regimental funeral will be held on Tuesday for 24 year-old Corporal Nathan Cirillo, the army reservist who was shot and killed while standing guard at the National War Memorial in Ottawa on Wednesday.
The service will take place at Christ’s Church Cathedral on James Street North in Hamilton, and will be open only to family and invited guests. He will be buried in the field of honour at a Hamilton cemetary.
A private visitation for family members is being held Sunday evening, and a public visitation will be held Monday from 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. at the Markey-Dermody Funeral Home on King Street East in Hamilton.
Corporal Cirillo was a member of Hamilton’s Argyll and Sutherland Highlanders Regiment.
