Mayor Rob Ford says when he decided to enter rehab back in the spring, he made the decision on his own.

Ford was speaking at the National Franchise and Business Opportunities Show in Toronto on Saturday.  He was giving a pep talk about running your own business, when he included  details about what made him seek help for his alcohol and drug addictions.

He said he was battling with “the man in the mirror”  when he came to realize that if he wanted to win, he would have to get professional help. 

Ford said he knew that he had to put everything aside and get help or else one day he wouldn’t be able to see the guy in the mirror anymore.

Ford spent two months at an addiction treatment centre in Muskoka, and insists his substance abuse days are behind him.
