Those big white trucks from Moscow have come and gone from Ukraine.

The seemingly endless convoy crossed the border into Eastern Ukraine yesterday, and after unloading their cargo in the city of Luhansk, the trucks returned to Russia.

The Russian goverment, which claims the trucks contained food, medicine and other supplies,  says it’s pleased with the results of the operation.

Ukraine wanted to inspect all of the over 100 vehicles, and wanted the International Red Cross to escort the convoy, but Russia said yesterday it couldnt wait enay longer at the border and sent the trucks into Ukraine.

With fears Moscow was sending arms to Russian rebels, or even transporting Russian troops to the Eastern Ukraine conflict, world leaders in the West, including Prime Minister Stephen Harper condemed the operation.

Harper called the Russian tactic disgraceful.
