Some good news for motorists who come into Toronto from the Niagara Region.
The Toronto-bound lanes of the Burlington Skyway will be open again between 6:00 and 8:00 Monday evening.
The lanes were closed last Thursday when a dump truck, reportedly with its box in the “up” position, struck beams and scaffolding at the top of the bridge.
There were workers on the bridge at the time, but luckily none were injured. The 34 year-old driver from Bramton had some minor injuries, and faces impaired driving charges.
About 80 thousand vehicles travel on the Skyway each day. It’s part of the Queen Elizabeth Way linking Hamilton and the GTA with Niagara and Western New York.
