She knew the way to San Jose, and now Dionne Warwick will be that city’s special representative.

On Friday night San Jose, California will name the iconic 73 year-old singer its “Global Ambassador of Goodwill.”   

She had never been to the city before recording her hit “Do You Know the Way To San Jose.” And she says before recording it she didn’t think much of the song.

When it became a big hit, Warwick says she cried all the way to the bank.
