It was a weekend of remembrance, reflection and prayer in Lac Megantic.
The pretty Quebec town is living through the memory of the horror one year ago early Sunday when a freight train parked on the edge of the town broke free, rolled backward, derailed and exploded.
Forty-seven people were killed, and most of the centre of the community was destroyed.
Many residents spent the weekend attending church services and other ceremonies, although some stayed away, saying they still feel the pain, and that their emotional wounds have not yet healed.
