Exit polls in Ukraine’s presidental election point to Petro Petroshenko winning outright in the first round.

Three Ukrainian survey companies show the billionaire candy-maker receiving 55.9 percent of the vote.

If official results don’t show a winner ahead of the other 20 candidates with a clear majorit, there would be a runoff election June 15th.

While voter turnout was heavy in Kyiv, it was very light in eastern parts of the country.  There are are reports of heavily-armed pro-Russian rebels intimidating voters in the east by blocking voting locations and smashing ballot boxes.
