A man from the U.S. is reported to be in good condition after contracting MERS, Middle East Respiratory Syndrome.

He was in Saudi Arabia where he was a health-care worker, and flew to the U.S. last week.  He’s currently in a hospital in Indiana.

The mysterious MERS virus has left hundreds of people sick in the Middle East, but health officials say it’s not highly contagious, and is described as low risk to the public.

The first known case, a 60 year-old man with pneumonia and renal failure, was in June, 2012 in Saudi Arabia.   He passed away

There is no vaccine or cure for MERS.
