China says one of its ships taking part in the search to find Malaysia Airlines flight MH 370 has detected a “pulse signal” in the southern Indian Ocean.

China’s official news agency says that it’s not yet been determined if the signal came from the downed airliner.

The Xinhua News says a black box detector deployed by its ship picked up a signal at 37.5 kiloherz,  That’s the frequency emitted by flight data recorders.
