Oscar Winning actor Philip Seymour Hoffman has died of an apparent drug overdose in New York City..
The 46-year-old actor was found dead in a Greenwich Village home at 11:30 Sunday morning.
Hoffman had confessed to having a drug problem, and had spent time in a rehab facility to battle heroin abuse.
He won the 2005 Academy Award for his role in “Capote.”
He had also been nominated three times for best supporting actor.
Hoffman starred in the 2003 Toronto-based production of “Owning Mahowny” based on the true story of a Toronto bank executive who defrauds his employer and some of its customers out of millions of dollars in order to support his gambling addiction.
