Toronto Hydro CEO Anthony Haines says it’s “hand to hand combat time” in the battle to restore electricity to thousands of people dealing with dark, cold houses and apartments.
As of 7:00 Friday morning there were still 33,000 customers without power in Toronto.
Haines says his crews are now down to reconnecting individual homes; a slower process than when restoring one connection might affect hundreds of users.
Toronto Mayor Rob Ford and Ontario Premier Kathleen Wynne continue to insist that everything that cans be done to deal with the crisis is being done.
