Holocaust survivors have been coming forward to claim art works that may have been stolen from their families by the Nazis, and have recently been found,

Two weeks ago, the German magazine Focus revealed the existence of 1,406 works of priceless art that had been hidden in the apartment of a man who says he did so because he loved the pieces.

80-year-old Cornelius Gurlitt claimed his father had built the collection, and that he had purchased them only from dealers and museums, and not from individuals.

Officials who discovered the collection say Gurlitt’s father may have works of art that were taken from Jews by the Nazizs.
