Poet and writer Mia Cuoto is this year’s winner of the Neustadt International Prize for Literature.
The 58 year-old native of Mozambique was announced as the winner of the 50-thousand dollar lifetime achievement prize Friday by the University of Oklahoma.
Cuoto’s novels include “the Last Flight of the Flamingo”, and “Sleepwalking Land”.
The Neustadt Prize for Literature was established in 1969, and is awarde every two years.
