When children go missing, it too often ends up being a tragic news story.
But it was a happy ending for such a story in eastern Ontario Friday evening, when two missing sisters were found safe and sound, and were reuinited with their family.
16 year-old Jenna Kip and her 13 year-old sister Emma were last seen Thursday morning when they went for a walk in Bon Echo Provincial Park north of Napanee.
When they didn’t return, an OPP helicopter and another from the Joint Rescue Co-ordination Centre at CFB Trenton became involved in an extensive search for the New Hamburg girls.
They were found at about 6:00 pm, and a helicopter took the girls to paramedics to be checked out.
