Zoomers heading south for a vacation through the late summer and fall may just catch a break during the Atlantic hurricane season. U-S weather forecasters have revised their forecast, trimming back the number of storms they expect, to between six and nine. However, Doctor Gerry Bell of the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration says there remains a 70 per cent chance that the season will be busier than normal. He says, “the climate pattens they had predicted to be in place to produce an active season have in fact materialized”. What that means is that it will be an active season. So far this year there have only been four named storms. The hurricane season runs through the end of November.
