New Democrats have made a move that would have been unthinkable not too many years ago.
They’ve voted to strip the more hard core socialist language from the party books.
The new, longer statement of core principles drops references to socialism, and instead talks about a rules-based economy and a just, equal, and sustainable Canada.
Leader Tom Mulcair says they want to reach more Canadians who might not understand what the N-D-P stands for.
