Environment Canada says a “dangerous” winter storm is moving into the southern and eastern regions of Ontario.

The weather agency warns in a special weather statement that much of the province will be hit with the outer stretches of a snow system centred over Kentucky.

It says Dunnville, Niagara and the area between Kingston and Cornwall will bear the worst of the storm, getting 15 to 20 centimetres of snow.

The statement says southwestern and eastern Ontario can expect up to 15 cm of snow, while central Ontario around Toronto should get their snow shovels ready for 5 to 10 cm.

The storm is expected to ease up on Thursday.

Toronto’s Pearson International Airport delayed or cancelled more than 100 incoming and outgoing flights to Canada and the U.S. Wednesday due to snowy weather.
