Canada’s telecom regulator is being blasted by the public over allowing three-year cellphone contracts.

Hundreds of people have contacted the Canadian Radio, Television and Telecommunications Commission about a proposed code of conduct for the wireless industry.

An overwhelming majority who wrote in claimed they were being “held hostage” by 36-month contracts.

Critics say Canadians pay too much for wireless services.
