Elderly veterans in wheelchairs and current members of the Canadian military gathered near Parliament Hill Sunday to remember fallen comrades.

Some standing in the crowd near the National War Memorial carried framed pictures of loved ones who died in combat.

They listened as the Canadian Forces’ chaplain told them parts of the world remain marked with fear, lawlessness and despair, and asked for inspiration to work for a more just and harmonious society.

Remembrance Day services were held at monuments and cenotaphs across the GTA, as well as at Queen’s Park and Old City Hall.
