The Royal Canadian Legion has named Roxanne Marie Priede of Grand Forks, B-C as this year’s Silver Cross Mother.

She will travel to Ottawa to lay a wreath at the National War Memorial on Remembrance Day on behalf every mother who has lost a child serving in the military.

Thirty-year-old Master Corporal Darrell Jason Priede died in Afghanistan in May 2007 in a helicopter crash.
