It was pretty hard to see the lawn in front of the Ontario legislature this afternoon — it was covered with teachers.
They were protesting a government bill that would impose a two-year contract on them, freezing wages, cutting benefits and banning strikes and lockouts.
Teachers’ unions are vowing to fight the move all the way to the Supreme Court.
Inside the legislature, Premier McGuinty defended the bill, saying the province just can’t afford to give teachers a pay hike.
