Coming up this week on Finding Your Bliss, we have Monica Parker, an Award-Winning Actress,
Writer/Author, and Producer. She has always known she was destined for big things. Having worked in Hollywood and Canada with many of the greats―including Sir Anthony Hopkins, Michael Douglas, Dan Ayckroyd, Gwyneth Paltrow, Viggo Mortensen, John Cusack, John Candy and Kim Catrall—Monica’s Parker’s smart and sassy take on living life to the fullest and challenging conventional thinking with humor and quick wit have made her a much-desired speaker, actress, writer & entertainer.
On TV, Parker has been a guest on numerable shows including Murder She Wrote, Who’s the Boss, E.R., The X-Files, and S.C.T.V, and has hosted three of her own programs―and she started in a very successful one-woman show, Sex, Pies & a Few White Lies, which premiered in LA and spawned her funny and deeply moving 2014 memoir/anti-diet book. Getting Waisted (A Survival Guide to Being Fat in a Society That Loves Thin.)
She is also the author of the delightful, much praised OMG! How Children See God. And her third book just dropped three days ago, and is all about the hot-button topic, money – Oops! I Forgot to Save Money. And she is also hard at work on her first thriller, The Very Bad, Best Friend.
As a producer, Parker’s credits include Hunger Point, starring Christina Hendricks and Barbara Hershey and The Party Never Stops, headlining Nancy Travis. She currently has two feature films under studio option: The Last Single Woman on Earth and Big Mouth. Amongst Monica’s many accolades she serves as an advisory board member for Humber College’s prestigious Television Writing and Producing Program.
To accompany the release of Oops! I Forgot to Save Money, Monica has videoed 100 inspirational women talking candidly about their money successes and failures. This series will be available on YouTube.
Also on the program we have 13-year-old singing sensation Emilie Naimark on the show.
Emilie is a very busy quadruple threat performer and recording artist in Toronto and Nashville. Emilie’s love for singing started when she was a toddler,l however it became more apparent at 7 years old when her love for musical theatre started and led her to be in 8 musicals ever since. She has been in lead roles such as Rent, Grease, Beauty and the Beast and more. As for her passion for singing, she also continues to cover songs on her social media from popular artists who are influencing her artistically. Her rich, soulful powerhouse voice is gaining lots of attention on her instagram @emilienaimarkmusic.
Although she wants to create her own sound, she is being compared to singers like Adele, Demi Levato and Lady Gaga. In 2020, Emilie was invited to perform the National Anthem at the Reena Rumble fundraiser as well in 2019 she performed on stage a one hour solo performance at the UJA Walk With Israel. Emilie normally loves to sing along her piano and guitar and now can hardly sing without her instruments!
In addition to singing and acting, Emilie has been in competitive hip hop for the last 4 years and enjoys dancing on stage as well anytime music is playing. Emilie rarely sits still and can’t go through one day without her music!
She already has 4 original songs produced, and two of them will be released this coming Fall 2021 and can be found on her social media platforms such as Spotify and Apple Music (link is in her Instagram bio). She is currently working on more music–so stay tuned for an upcoming EP in 2022.
